Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen Finishes Construction in Preparation for Museum’s Big Move

Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, the first publicly accessible art depot in the world designed by MVRDV, has finished construction. Another Van Gogh Painting Joins the Noord Brabants Museum Collection

Ashmolean Uncovers a Painting from Rembrand's Workshop in Museum Stores

The Ashmolean has uncovered a painting in its stores, bequeathed to the Museum in 1951, which can now be confirmed as having been painted in Rembrandt’s workshop in c. 1630. The tiny picture, Head of a Bearded Man, is a portrait study of an old man with a downcast gaze, typical of Rembrandt’s work at this time.

ALIPH will Devote a First Envelope of 5 million Dollars to the Stabilization and Rehabilitation of Beirut’s Damaged Cultural Heritage

Following the explosion of 4 August and the damage it caused to museums, libraries, monuments and historic houses in central Beirut, the ALIPH Foundation Board decided to allocate an initial envelope of 5 million dollars to finance emergency measures to stabilize, protect, or rehabilitate the city’s cultural heritage.

The First Public Park of Contemporary Sculpture in Ukraine PARK3020 Opens in September

On September 15, 2020 PARK3020 officially opens and presents works by Ukrainian sculptors: Nazar Bilyk, Anna Zvyagintseva, Oleksii Zolotariov, Anton Logov, Anna Naduda, Bohdan Tomashevskyi and others. Magritte in Full Sunlight at the Musee de l'Orangerie - the "Renoir" Period 1940-1947

The Musée d’Orsay and Musée de l’Orangerie have organised an exhibition of René Magritte’s "Renoir Period", which extended from 1943 until 1947. The first exhibition to show a still largely unknown chapter of Magritte’s work in its entirety, it compares Magritte’s works with those of Auguste Renoir, who inspired him.
