Ukrainian Artist Artur Snitkus killed in Combat

Ukrainian artist, musician and stylist, representative of the queer community, fighter Artur Snitkus died while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region.

Artur Snitkus was an outstanding artist and a legend of the Ukrainian queer underground. He was mobilized to the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a soldier last year to defend Ukraine from the Russian invasion. On June 7, 2024, at the age of 36, Artur was killed in a combat mission on the frontline in the Donetsk region.

The mayor of his hometown Ternopil, Serhiy Nadal says :"The hero gave his life on June 7 while performing a combat mission in the Donetsk region. We sympathize with all relatives and friends of the defender. We sincerely share the pain of loss and bow our heads in deep sorrow. Eternal memory to our defender!"
