After an anonymous bomb threat, the famous Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow was evacuated for several hours on Sunday.
"We received an anonymous tip about an explosive device," said a gallery spokesperson to the state agency TASS. "Visitors and staff were evacuated for their safety."
After a search of the building for possible explosives, the all-clear was given in the late afternoon. "False alarm, the operation is over," quoted the Interfax agency a gallery spokesperson.
The Tretyakov Gallery, along with the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, is Russia's largest art museum. The gallery's collection includes around 140,000 works of art.
