The Zofia Edit: turning Domestic Pets into Global Cover Models
Zofia is turning the traditional pet portrait on its head, swapping stoic oil paintings for vibrant, high-fashion fantasies.
Forget the standard dog on a rug aesthetic; Zofia’s work reimagines our domestic companions as the elite cover stars of a fictional, ultra-chic magazine titled MODE.
Zofia’s signature style blends meticulous technique with a sharp, witty sense of humor, capturing the distinct personalities of her subjects through a lens of avant-garde luxury. It relates to her fashion design background and is a celebration of her two biggest passions: fashion and painting.
Take, for example, the portrait of a cheerful Toy Poodle. While most owners see a fluffy
companion, Zofia sees a streetwear icon. The subject is depicted not just in a sweater, but in a boldly textured, multi-colored knit that pops against a crisp, white background.
The piece de resistance? A full set of four designer-inspired sneakers, complete with star motifs and chunky soles. It’s a playful nod to the hypebeast culture, proving that four paws are better than two when it comes to rocking the latest kicks.

Zofia’s versatility shines when she shifts from the bright and breezy to the saturated and surreal. In her feline portrait, a majestic, long-haired cat sits bathed in a monochromatic orange glow.
The use of color here is intentional and striking. What makes Zofia’s work stand out in the crowded world of pet art is her ability to treat the animals with the same gravity and it-factor as a human supermodel. By placing the word MODE in bold, serif typography across the top of her canvases, she frames these pets as cultural influencers.
Zofia became a master of animal portraits not by coincidence. Her personal story and the long hours of continuous studies towards becoming a good artist had a massive impact on the direction her art style took.
She says: “From my early childhood I’ve always been surrounded by pets. I have a difficult background. And my interaction with animals always helped me cope with my
traumas. And creating became my escape. What did I draw? My dogs and cats! Portraits of cows, botanical, oceanic and tropical instalations, hand sewn teddies and collages. I was left alone crafting for hours… accompanied by my four-legged friends.” -
Zofia’s animal portraits are a coronation of her love for fauna and her appreciation for life. Her paintings are more than just likenesses; they are character studies wrapped in high-concept fashion. For pet owners, a Zofia portrait painting isn't just a tribute to a best friend—it’s a statement piece that brings a touch of the runway into the living room.
If your own companion has the "It-Factor" that deserves the MODE treatment, Zofia offers bespoke portrait commissions tailored to your pet's unique personality. Whether you envision a streetwear-inspired pup or a surrealist, high-fashion feline, each piece is a collaborative journey into avant-garde luxury.
