The Next Berlin Biennale Postponed to 2025

The upcoming Berlin Biennale, originally scheduled for 2024, has been postponed to 2025.

This decision is influenced by several factors, on one hand, according to Gabriele Horn, the managing director, there are pandemic-related organizational delays associated with the Berlin project. On the other hand, the international exhibition calendar for 2024 is experiencing a surge in Biennale events being rescheduled due to the ongoing pandemic. This convergence of events could potentially overwhelm the international audience, leading to an excessive number of Biennale exhibitions in the coming year. Consequently, this situation may result in an undesirable "competition for resources," particularly in acquiring artistic positions, given the limited capacities and availability of artists.

Furthermore, the curator for the next Berlin Biennale has not been confirmed yet, adding to the reasons behind the postponement.
