The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum Have Agreed on a Joint Ticket

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum have signed a partnership agreement to create and promote a joint ticket, which will provide admission to both museums at a lower price.

The new joint ticket, which will come into effect on October 14, will allow the public to visit both museums within a four-day period at a significant discount. Such discount will range from 20% to 33%, depending on the ticket category—general, special, or reduced—according to the exhibition calendar. For instance, buying a ticket for each museum for October 14 (reduced fee) would cost €24, whereas a combined ticket would cost €16. The 50% discount for students and pensioners will be maintained, and admission for children will remain free.

The initiative strengthens the complementary relationship between the two leading museums, which, through their distinct histories and perspectives, together offer a distinctive cultural offering. The new ticket will enable a range of audiences to explore key periods of art history, architecture and museum practice, as part of a more cohesive, enhanced experience for local residents and visitors to Bilbao alike.

Against the backdrop of a thriving arts scene, the new agreement fosters a unique experience at the heart of the city’s cultural landscape, as the Fine Arts Museum enters a new chapter with the launch of the ambitious extension designed by Norman Foster and Luis María Uriarte.

Moreover, this joint initiative highlights the physical proximity of both institutions, which are linked by a 400-metre walking route that has recently been improved to facilitate the connection between the two museums. The initiative also emphasises the institutions’ prominent role within the city’s arts district.

Additionally, to make the museum accessible for all, reduced-price admission is to be introduced for people aged 65 and over and for students aged 18 to 25 inclusive, upon presentation of proof of age.

Finally, the partnership agreement entitles members of the ‘Friends of the Museum’ groups at both museums to a 50 per cent discount on the price of general admission at each museum.
