Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art Launches Online Collection Ahead of 50th Anniversary

The director of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMoCA) has announced that it is now possible to view the museum’s collection online.

To mark its upcoming 50th anniversary and promote transparency, the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMoCA) is making its collection accessible online at www.tmoca.com. Director Reza Dabirinejad announced that around 1,000 items are currently uploaded, with the remaining collection to be added progressively. Experts and the public are invited to help refine information about the pieces.

Additionally, TMoCA plans to create a permanent physical exhibition section for its most prominent works. Founded in 1977 and designed by architect Kamran Diba, the museum houses over 4,000 works—the largest collection of Western art in the East—alongside major modern Iranian art.
