Presenting 37 Extraordinary Pieces from America's Most Celebrated Designers

Sotheby's and The Council of Fashion Designers of America unveil the full lineup of the "CFDA: Defining American Style" Auction.

Sotheby’s New York unveils the full contents of CFDA: Defining American Style open for bidding 9 - 23 January. Consisting of 37 iconic pieces, the auction features a highly curated selection of looks from America’s most coveted designers – from the establishment to the new guard – including seminal designs and rare pieces representing the best of American fashion and donated by CFDA members and notable collectors.

On public view in Sotheby's New York galleries from 12 - 20 January, the exhibition will highlight unforgettable cultural moments and unmatched artistry, representing American designers’ work at the highest level, featuring looks worn by legendary figures including Kim Kardashian, Margot Robbie, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Anna Wintour, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, Paris Hilton, Kendall Jenner, Kate Moss, Erykah Badi, Winnie Harlow, and Jessica Chastain, among others (full details at the link below).

Full proceeds from the sale will go to the CFDA Foundation, which benefits CFDA Scholarships and business mentoring to nurture the next generation of American fashion.

The auction will take place alongside the first edition of Visions of America, Sotheby’s newly reimagined sale and exhibition format showcasing an unprecedented selection of American craftsmanship from important private collections and institutions across a week-long series of auctions, events, and experiences, putting fashion directly in conversation with the finest art and objects spanning more than 400 years.
