Paintings by Renoir, Cezanne, and Matisse stolen from Villa Magnani, Italy

Three paintings were stolen from the collection of the Magnani Rocca Foundation, in Mamiano di Traversetol, in the province of Parma, Italy.

Thiefs stole Renoir's painting "Les Poissons" and two other works: one by Matisse ("Odalisque on a Terrace") and the other by Cézanne ("Still Life with Cherries") .

The news was reported by TGR Emilia-Romagna, the thieves acted during the night between March 22nd and 23rd .

They entered by forcing a door into the building. The Parma Police is investigating the theft, along with the Carabinieri of the Cultural Heritage Protection Unit.

According to a reconstruction provided by the Foundation, the thieves acted in less than three minutes, partly because the alarm systems activated, forcing the thieves to flee 'without completing their illegal activities', also thanks to the prompt intervention of the museum security and the Carabinieri.
