Nearly 600,000 Visitors to the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in 2025

Last year, almost 600,000 people visited the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium.

Despite the closure of the Wiertz Museum for the entire year, the institution continues to attract large numbers of visitors thanks to its three open museums, spread across three geographical areas of Brussels: the Magritte Museum (Place Royale, on the Mont des Arts), the Old Masters Museum (Rue de la Régence) and the Meunier Museum (in Ixelles).

In 2025, visitor numbers to the three museums remained stable. The closure of the Wiertz Museum (Ixelles) for renovation work and the absence of major temporary exhibitions explain the slight decline in visitor numbers compared to 2024. The Drafts exhibition ended in mid-February 2025 and, thereafter, the exhibitions on offer were included in the ticket price.

In addition, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts were affected by reduced accessibility due to the works carried out on Place Royale and Rue de la Régence over many months.
