Job Opening: Aristide V, the Black Museum Cat,  Join Musea Bruges and Welcome Visitors with Cuddles and Cuteness

Working at Musea Brugge means being part of an exciting, inspiring, and high-quality work environment where you can bring out the best in yourself. Could you shine as Aristide V, the black museum cat.

What will be your role?

  • You will be responsible for welcoming museum visitors.
  • You will be the point of contact for cuddles and affection.
  • You will occasionally provide entertainment and cuteness.
  • You will take naps in the sun, regularly check if there's attention to be gained in the museum tavern, and stare out the window.
  • You will perform small maintenance tasks (catching mice, chasing birds, digging in the soil).

What is expected of you?

  • You have a relevant degree OR a minimum of 12 weeks of professional experience as a cat.
  • Your fur is entirely black (required).
  • You are not afraid of humans and enjoy affection.
  • You have good communication skills. Basic knowledge of cute meowing.
  • You have good personal hygiene. You can handle a litter box or are willing to learn quickly.
  • You are flexible, occasional evening and night work does not scare you.
  • You have good knowledge of hanging out, doing nothing, and giving head-butts.
  • You have respect for heritage objects and endorse the ICOM Code of Ethics.
  • You are microchipped and registered in Cat ID.
  • You are sterilized or neutered.
  • You are at least 12 weeks old.
