The Miller ICA will become ICA Pittsburgh when it moves to its new, expanded home in 2027.
Located within CMU’s new Richard King Mellon Hall of Sciences at the crossroads of the university campus and Pittsburgh’s iconic arts and cultural institutions, the new ICA Pittsburgh will extend the legacy and impact of the Miller ICA, which has advanced the work of innovative artists and mounted experimental and academically rigorous exhibitions and programs since its founding in 2000. The new space will nearly triple the museum’s current size, with galleries across two levels and public programming spaces that will foster community engagement and cross-disciplinary inquiry.
ICA Pittsburgh will be the cultural and civic anchor of the RKM Hall of Sciences, an interdisciplinary building designed by ZGF Architects that will house CMU’s Mellon College of Science and School of Computer Science in addition to the new ICA. An exhibition within the new museum will be named “The Miller Gallery” in acknowledgment of Regina and Marlin Miller, whose foundation support helped launch the institution.
