ArtDependence (AD): How does your work reflect your view of the world right now?
Katherine Ann Miller (KAM): My work reflects my view of the world right now as a response to the overwhelming pace and demands of everyday life. We live in a time marked by constant stimulation and a relentless rush, which often leaves little room for introspection or connection with our inner selves. Through my intuitive abstract paintings, I seek to create emotional dream landscapes that offer an escape from this routine.
Each piece emerges from a place of spontaneity and intuition. In this chaotic world, my art serves as a sanctuary, inviting viewers to step into these dreamlike realms where they can pause, reflect, and reconnect with their own emotions and imaginations. It acts as a gentle reminder that amidst the noise, there exists a space for contemplation and creativity - a refuge where we can find solace and inspiration.
In creating these emotional landscapes, I aim to foster a sense of wonder and connection, encouraging both myself and others to embrace the beauty of the moment and explore the depths of our inner worlds. My work reflects a yearning for balance and a celebration of the escapism that art can provide.
AD: What role do you think art plays in connecting people today?
KAM: Art serves as a universal language that transcends barriers and invites shared experiences. In our fast-paced world, where routines often dull our senses, art offers a space for reflection and connection - a moment to pause and engage with something deeper. It invites viewers to explore their own emotions and dreams. These pieces act as bridges, allowing individuals to connect not only with the artwork but also with one another through shared feelings and interpretations. Each viewer brings their own story and perspective, which can spark meaningful conversations and forge connections that might not occur otherwise.
In a time when technology often isolates us, art has the power to create intimate moments of connection, escape, and understanding. I hope that my work helps facilitate these experiences, reminding us that we are all part of a larger tapestry of human emotion and creativity. Art is a means of weaving together stories, emotions, and dreams - reminding us that, despite our differences, we share a profound and collective journey.

The feelings of new beginnings, growth and new energies. It aims to encourage the conscious perception of moments filled with new possibilities, opportunities, joy and abundance. This artwork seeks to evoke a sense of renewal and the beauty of embracing change and transformation. "Changes" serves as a reminder that transformation is not only an inherent part of nature but also a profound aspect of our own existence, urging us to embrace the beauty in both the seen and unseen transitions of life.
AD: What message or feeling do you hope viewers take away from your art?

An escape from everyday life, deep into undiscovered dream landscapes where everyone can unfold freely. A journey to break free from the ordinary and to embrace their own transformation. My aim is to foster a sense of unity and healing through my art, reminding us all of our shared human experience and the beauty that lies within it.
