Istanbul Modern, Designed by the Pritzker Prize-Winning Architect Renzo Piano, Set to Open this Week

Founded in 2004 as Turkey's first museum of modern and contemporary art, Istanbul Modern is committed to sharing Turkey’s artistic creativity and cultural identity with art enthusiasts everywhere. To date, the museum has hosted 8 million 500 thousand visitors and provided free art education to 850 thousand children and young people.

Istanbul Modern's new building, situated at the museum's original location in Karaköy, is designed by Pritzker prize-winning architect Renzo Piano, the mastermind of buildings for numerous international museums and art institutions, among them Centre Pompidou, Whitney Museum, Centro Botín, and Beyeler Foundation Museum.

Istanbul Modern’s new building will offer visitors various exhibition halls and all the conveniences and activities of the world's leading museums, including educational workshops, a cinema, library, design shop, event spaces, and a café and restaurant.
