For Geert Lemmers, composing artworks is almost a philosophical question in transferring his thoughts in a sort of metaphor representations. These developments help him to transfer his thoughts into strong and compassing images.
Geert Lemmers is “Visual Art Master" of the Accademia Italia in Arte nel Mondo Association Cultural" in Lecce Italy and received the Fransisco Award, in Barcelona during the second art biennale.
ArtDependence (AD): How does your work reflect your view of the world right now ?
Geert Lemmers (GL): Freedom is the key word in all my work. As an artist, of course, it's
about having the freedom to create whatever you want, or, in the case of abstract works, giving your thoughts complete freedom.
Sometimes my work has a social message, but the majority of my works are abstract works, a form I find much more suitable for this difficult-to-understand world. These abstractions are much more likely to stimulate one's own thinking, fostering solace, a sense of community, and, for example, a sense of freedom.`
AD: What role do you think art plays in connecting people today ?
GL: We are familiar with the bleak reality of today, it influences all we do and think. For this reason, art, in whatever form, is of crucial importance. Art wants to give people a different perspective and I am convinced that art releases positive expressions of everyone's mind and gives comfort, in this world.
My childhood was really difficult, but I created my own world and was able to feed this world with the beauty around me which I am now using in my art to make others see it.

AD: Can you tell us a bit about your paintings ?
GL: In my work, mystical thoughts and experiences are never far away and often form the basis of philosophical thoughts, both of which I capture in my images.
The philosophical energy of this work is notable—as if a stream of thoughts transforms into color and form. Like a diary written in the language of expression: layered, sincere, and mystical. Layers of emotion woven into color—this expressive work feels like a
journey through fleeting memories and hidden thoughts.
AD: What message or feeling do you hope viewers take away from your art ?
GL: In being who you are, you have achieved what you want to be in this world, even if that's often difficult for others to understand. Acceptance is crucial in this regard. Broad acceptance is also a form of freedom.
I sincerely hope that viewers of my work will be touched; my works are never finished because every viewer will have a different story about them. When this happens I know my art is successful.
AD: What inspired you to take part in the Art to Collect project?
GL: I think I have good reasons to believe that my work is interesting to collectors; my work finds its way to collectors all over the world, and the reactions from people around the world also demonstrate a certain enthusiasm for me. That's why I'm delighted with Artdependence's offer to participate in the Art to Collect project.
