At least four employees at the Van Gogh Museum have been suspended after it was discovered that they reportedly stole Pokemon Cards during the popular exhibition.
When it was announced that Pokemon would be creating Van Gogh Pokemon cards back in September 2023 players, collectors, and scalpers alike quickly headed to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and brought the sets instantly, causing disappointment from those who missed out. Many began selling them at much higher prices.
As revealed by the Amsterdam news site, it states that “According to the museum, the employees, one of whom is said to have been employed for 25 years, did not adhere to the ‘procedures and codes of conduct’ for staff. According to sources, they informed visitors in various ways about when they could buy tickets. One employee allegedly embezzled a box of Pokemon cards.”
