Ed Ruscha Designs Poster for Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s Digger

The poster was unveiled at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art yesterday, September 27, during a private event, which the artist attended with Cruise and Iñárritu.

Ruscha’s poster pictures an iceberg as a backdrop to the film’s title set vertically in the center and formatted in the now familiar typeface of his own design. Additional phrases are arranged in a rectangular format around the central image. Describing the work, the artist says, “I kept thinking about this movie, and it reminded me of a kaleidoscope—it’s got so many round and round ideas. It was kaleidoscopic in its message and its content and its humor, and it’s got something to offer to the world.”
