Dutch Police Arrest three Suspects for Gold Heist at Drents Museum

After an intensive four-day manhunt, the police have arrested three suspects for the spectacular heist at the Drents Museum in Assen on Saturday morning.

Since Saturday morning, a team of approximately 30 to 35 detectives and specialists has been working on the case. The pressure on the police was immense. On Sunday, authorities revealed that the robbers used a Volkswagen Golf stolen in Alkmaar. On Monday, two hammers were discovered nearby, which police believe were used in the heist.
The police in Northern Netherlands confirmed the arrests to De Telegraaf after receiving a tip. The suspects were apprehended in Heerhugowaard. However, the stolen treasures remain missing, according to the museum.
“The suspects are in full custody and are being questioned about their role in the theft,” reads the announcement from the Dutch police.
The Drents Museum also issued a statement saying, “We are very pleased with the hopeful news regarding the arrests in North Holland. We have great respect for the law enforcement agencies who are handling this terrible case so efficiently, and we are eagerly awaiting further developments. The safe return of the stolen artifacts would be a fantastic next step for all involved. Not only for us, but especially for the Romanian people.”
