Bonhams Officially opens its New U.S. Flagship

Bonhams opens its new U.S. flagship at 111 West 57th Street, marking a bold new chapter in our 233-year history.

Bonhams' new U.S. flagship is now open, at 111 West 57th Street, marking a bold new chapter in its 233-year history. Spanning four floors, the new headquarters brings together the restored grandeur of historic Steinway Hall and SHoP Architects’ iconic skyscraper, Steinway Tower, creating a cultural destination at one of New York’s most storied addresses.

The iconic Steinway Hall, originally constructed in 1925 serve as the headquarters for piano makers Steinway & Sons, with an ornate design by Warren & Wetmore, the celebrated architects of Grand Central Station. Following a decade of closure, the hall has been meticulously returned to its early neoclassical grandeur, with intricate craftsmanship carried out largely by hand.

At 42,000 square feet, Bonhams' new flagship unites the historic Steinway Rotunda with a soaring 80-foot glass atrium serving as an exhibition space, reception, and main lobby. A grand staircase leads to the expansive, triple-height galleries bathed in natural light, complete with two large auction rooms.
