Art Dubai Postpones 2026 Fair Amid Iran War Fears
Art Dubai announced that its 2026 fair would not take place in April as planned but instead would be held May 14–17 in an “adapted format” at its longtime home, the resort Madinat Jumeirah.
In a statement, Art Dubai said it had remained in “close dialogue with all stakeholders,” adding that there was a clear consensus around the importance of maintaining the platform the fair provides to the wider cultural ecosystem.
“On that basis, and after very careful consideration, we are planning to move forward with Art Dubai 2026 in an adapted format,” organisers said.
The revised edition will bring together galleries, artists and institutions through a combination of curated presentations, collaborations and public programming, rather than the traditional large-scale fair format.
The move reflects a broader trend across the Middle East, where several major events have been postponed, scaled back or reformatted in response to heightened uncertainty in the region.
Despite the changes, organisers stressed that Art Dubai remains a key cultural platform rooted in the Middle East, playing a significant role in connecting regional and international art ecosystems.
