Art Basel Miami Beach reveals new Highlights for its 2024 Edition

Art Basel Miami Beach 2024, led for the first time by Bridget Finn, will bring together 283 leading galleries from 38 countries and territories, showcasing a diverse array of contemporary and modern art.

With new collaborators, exhibition concepts, and the largest group of new exhibitors in over a decade, this year’s show promises an exceptional experience for art professionals and enthusiasts. Art Basel Miami Beach is taking place from December 6-8 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, with VIP Preview Days on December 4 and 5.

One of the most exciting developments for this year is the introduction of 34 new galleries—the largest group of newcomers in over a decade—who will present across all sectors of the show. This includes prestigious names such as Gallery Baton (Seoul) and Pearl Lam Galleries (Hong Kong). Many of these new exhibitors will make their debut in the main Galleries sector, providing a fresh and dynamic perspective on contemporary and Modern art.

Meridians, the show’s trademark sector for monumental artworks, will be curated for the first time by Yasmin Raymond, featuring 18 large-scale projects by renowned artists from the Americas and beyond, including Alice Aycock, Roberto Huarcaya, and Franz West, among others. The sector aims to push boundaries and engage visitors with immersive, expansive installations that go beyond the traditional art fair booth.

In addition to the exhibition sectors, the Kabinett sector will once again present intimate, thematic showcases from select galleries, while the Nova and Positions sectors will focus on emerging artists and new works. These curated sectors allow galleries to present works with distinct narratives, enhancing the depth and discovery that visitors can experience throughout the fair.

Bridget Finn, reflecting on her vision for the show, highlighted the emphasis on discovery and quality: “We are categorically focused on the quality of exhibitors and works on view, making sure we deliver an experience that is truly unequalled the world over. Whether a first-time visitor or a seasoned fairgoer and collector, this edition has been designed with you in mind, to maximize at every turn the opportunity for surprise encounters and revelatory discoveries.”

Complementing the gallery presentations, the fair will also offer its renowned Conversations program, curated by Kimberly Bradley. This series of public talks will include a Premiere Artist Talk with Hank Willis Thomas, offering insights into his influential career and artistic practice. The Conversations program remains a key platform for dialogue and exchange within the global art community.
