Amsterdam Art announced the 13th edition of Amsterdam Art Week (20–25 May), shared the full programme, and revealed the participating galleries and partner projects.
For one vibrant week, the city will once again transform into a lively hub of contemporary art, presenting over 300 artists across more than 70 locations and 220 events and exhibitions, all within Amsterdam’s compact yet dynamic landscape.
Amsterdam Art Week is a celebration of the many layers of the city’s art scene — bringing together artists, galleries, collectors, pioneering art spaces, and esteemed residencies, while also embracing new perspectives from around the world. With presentations by galleries throughout the city and exhibitions from both private and institutional collections, the week promises to be one of Europe’s most ambitious and exciting contemporary art events.
Beyond showcasing the best of the commercial, institutional and experimental non profit art worlds, the week will also include a rich public programme of talks, films, workshops and studio visits — as well as one-off happenings. Join in with ‘group jogging’ between galleries, book fairs and even a gallery slumber party. Or, for children, collect your first ever art work (for a small price) or partake in an art treasure hunt across the canalled city.
The full programme can be viewed now online at www.amsterdamart.com from 15th April 2025.
Amsterdam Art Week Director Martina Halsema said, “We’re delighted to present the programme for this year’s Amsterdam Art Week — our most ambitious edition yet and which highlights the energy and collaboration present in our arts ecosystem here in the city. Across the city, galleries and institutions will showcase cutting-edge exhibitions, welcoming a global audience to experience Amsterdam at its cultural best; you will experience unforgettable moments directly with artists as they take the centre stage. The programme offers meaningful ways to engage — from intimate studio visits and artist-led tours to performances, talks, intellectually stimulating and accessible encounters throughout the week. As Amsterdam celebrates its 750th anniversary, it’s the perfect time to explore the city as an open-air museum, discovering its vibrant art scene one location at a time - step inside an artist studio, witness a one off live event; bring your family - this year is all about experiencing the personal encounter with the many artists across the city”
