Amsterdam Art is announced the 12th edition of Amsterdam Art Week, taking place from 29 May to 2 June 2024.
The city will transform into a vibrant hub for contemporary art featuring over 200 artists at more than 70 locations. The event is expected to draw in 35.000+ (inter)national visitors.
Director Martina Halsema said, “We are a cosmopolitan city on a small scale, very charming, but with top international talent. Amsterdam has a history as a breeding ground where talented, emerging artists from all over the world can flourish and therefore the perfect place of discovery. Amsterdam Art Week is the pivotal moment on the contemporary art agenda, where the city hits its artistic peak. It marks the best moment to dive into a whirlwind of cutting-edge exhibitions and events as art institutions unveil their finest talent to a global audience”.
Amsterdam Art Week offers a vibrant Professionals Programme for art professionals and collectors from all over the world and a Public Programme for all art and culture lovers. During the public programme you will have a chance to see the works of emerging artists like Afra Eisma, Josse Pyl and Raul Balai and established artists such as Charlotte Dumas, Michael Raedecker, Lee Ufan and many more. They will showcase their work at 70+ locations, including renowned institutions as Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, Oude Kerk, and GRIMM and hidden gems like, Gallery van Fanny Freytag, Arti et Amicitiae, Kunstverein, and CBK Zuidoost.
