Nicky Morgan to Remain UK Culture Minister

Nicky Morgan will stay on as Britain’s Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Minister, Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s office announced on Monday. Morgan, who had been in the role since Johnson took office in July, stood down as a member of parliament ahead of last week’s election citing the impact on her family and saying she planned to “be at home far more.”

ALIPH Allocates USD 10 million for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in 12 Countries in Conflict or Post-Crisis Situations

The International alliance for the protection of heritage in conflict areas (ALIPH) said on Tuesday it has allocated another USD 10 million to support 20 projects that safeguard cultural heritage in 12 countries struggling to recover from conflict, particularly in the Middle East and Africa.

Panamarenko’s real name was Henri Van Herwegen and he was known for his vibrant personality and for his painting and sculptural work.
