The first edition of Paris+ par Art Basel – which will take place from October 20 to 23 – will bring together 156 galleries, creating a new flagship event that further enhances Paris’s standing as a cultural epicenter.
Hailing from 30 countries and territories, the exhibitors will gather in the Grand Palais Éphémère and its extension on the Champ de Mars. The Galeries sector will include 140 leading galleries, and the Galeries Émergentes sector will welcome 16 emerging galleries, each featuring a solo presentation. Thanks to the support of the Galeries Lafayette Group, an emerging artist will be selected, and given the opportunity to have an artwork produced and featured at Lafayette Anticipations – Fondation Galeries Lafayette the following year. Paris+ par Art Basel is committed to putting local galleries in the spotlight – 61 exhibitors have spaces in France.
The fair will extend beyond the Grand Palais Éphémère through a program of collaborations with Paris’s cultural institutions. Its city-wide sector Sites will feature publicly accessible works in such emblematic settings as the Jardin des Tuileries, Place Vendôme, Musée national Eugène-Delacroix, and Chapelle des Petits-Augustins des Beaux-Arts de Paris.
Curated by Pierre-Alexandre Matéos and Charles Teyssou, the Conversations program will provide a platform for dynamic dialogues between leading figures from the artworld and the broader cultural sphere. It will take place at the atmospheric Bal de la Marine, a docked boat opposite the Eiffel Tower.
